BEFORE YOU START: Ashford Pro is child theme and is bundled with the Ashford. Ashford and Ashford Pro must be exist in your themes folder. Ashford and Ashford Pro must be from the same release. For example, you can not run v0.6 version of Ashford and v2.0 version of Ashford Pro.
UPGRADING? If you are upgrading an existing, all-ready installed version of Pro, please read our Upgrading document before proceeding.
Using WordPress
- Buy Ashford Pro
- Download and save Ashford Pro WinZip file (ashford_pro_bundle.zip) to your computer
- Unzip ashford_pro_bundle.zip resulting in three zip files
- Log in to the WordPress
- Click the Appearance → Themes → Install Themes (tab) → Upload
- Upload ashford.zip
- Click the Appearance → Themes → Install Themes (tab) → Upload
- Upload ashford_pro.zip
- Follow the instructions to Activate
On the home page, you will see a Welcome screen with a message. This screen will help you get started on your new web site. You can remove the Welcome screen on the Theme Options page, select “no” on Display Welcome screen.
If you get an error using WordPress
Depending on a variety of factors, you may not be able to upload the themes using WordPress. If this is the case, here is how to use FTP and manually add the themes.
- Buy Ashford Pro
- Download and save Ashford Pro WinZip file (ashford_pro_bundle.zip) to your computer
- Unzip ashford_pro_bundle.zip resulting in three zip files
- Unzip ashford.zip → ashford (extract to a folder)
- Unzip ashford_pro.zip → ashford_pro (extract to a folder)
- Open your FTP (e.g. Filezilla) and connect to your server
- Find the folder /wp-content/theme
- Upload ashford to /wp-content/theme
- Upload ashford_pro to /wp-content/theme
- Log in to the WordPress
- Click the Appearance → Themes
- Find Ashford Pro → Click Activate
Activating the Ashford Lighbox Plugin
- Login to WordPress
- Click the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload
- Select and upload ashford_jquery_lighbox.zip
- When successfully installed, click “Activate Plugin”
