I’m at work on v0.1.2 basically refining the theme as I build this web site using the theme.
For the next few releases, I I will release updates on Tuesdays. One the the challenges that I’m facing is providing a great theme that looks good and can be easily used to run a web site. As I have researched other free blogs, I have noticed that many of them are really just visual mods of the Default Theme better known as Kubrik.
While I’d be lying if I said my code is original, I am really trying to work every line of code not just re-using the default theme.
Also I’m noticing that many themes present a eye-catching screen shot; what most people do not realize is how big of a pain it is to actually use a theme. Ashford is attempting to provide some great features that are only usually found on premium themes.
There are some significant changes for v0.1.2:
- Fixed horizontal scroll bar caused by #infobar
- Fixed CSS layout problems on #top and #nav
- Fixed markup error on Speed Dial function
- Replaced jQuery Corners with jQuery Curvey Corners v1.1.1
- Changed structure of page_template_frontpage.php
- Changed structure of index.php
- Added page_template_blog.php
- Fixed white space bug on functions.php
As of midnight, this is all my changes. There maybe more by the time I deploy the release.

Okay, this version will be released next Tuesday. It is getting a whole bunch of changes — especially important to me is killing the use of Curvy Corners as the means to create rounded corners.
